The Center for Ibero-American Studies would like to invite you to the two-day international conference, which will take place on 5 and 6 November 2019 in Špork Palace in room 303 from 9.00 to 17.00. The conference is held in cooperation with the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, KREAS, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and Grupo HISTOPÍA. It deals with the issue of utopia (or dystopia) and the impact on the relation between America and Europe. The languages of the event are English and Spanish. The conference aims to discuss topics such as modernity, Old and New World, identity formation, colonization, the formation of Europe and the cross-looks between Europe and America; all this in a wide chronological framework, from the fifteenth century up to the present.
